| How to Help |
| There
are many different ways you can help our students achieve
their dreams. Descriptions of some of these opportunities
are listed below. |
| |
Study
Hall Buddy Program
IHAD-EPA is looking for committed volunteer study hall buddies to join
our team during the after-school program. These volunteers have the opportunity
to help a small group of middle school students with their homework. Homework
ranges from the basic math and reading to more complicated science and
social studies assignments. Volunteers are needed
after school, Monday-Thursday. IHAD-EPA asks that homework buddies commit
to an entire school year with the Dreamers. Please see the “Volunteers” link
for more information.

In-class
Support
The teachers we work with during the academic year often request help with
lessons and special projects in the classroom. We are looking for volunteers
who can assist teachers in the classroom. Prior teaching or tutoring experience
is helpful for this position.

Volunteer
your Services
If you or someone you know could provide valuable information to the Dreamers
or their families in a workshop setting, we’d love to have you as
a guest presenter. Could you lead a workshop regarding study habits, healthy
eating, organization, financial planning, or peer pressure? If you have
an interest in sharing your knowledge in a one-time workshop setting, we
have a space for you!

Financial
and In-Kind Contributions
Financial and in-kind contributions are critical to the success of the
program. These contributions allow us to offer higher quality and more
extensive programming and help us to better meet the individual needs of
the Dreamers. In addition to monetary donations, books, games, clothing,
food and tickets to sports and cultural events also are extremely valuable
to the program.
